The International Congress of Knowledge and Innovation (ciKi) began in 2011 under the leadership of the Graduate Program in Engineering and Knowledge Management (EGC) of the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC).
Currently, ciKi is a traveling event in the Americas promoted by the EGC/UFSC, the Scientific and Technological Park (TECNOPUC) of the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul (PUCRS) and the Colégio de las Américas Program (COLAM) of the Interamerican University Organization (OUI), in partnership with numerous institutions and higher education organizations in the Americas.
There were eight editions that revolved around the conceptual development, methodology and practice in Knowledge Management, Intellectual Capital and Innovation Management.
Habitats for Innovation and the Knowledge Economy
The VIII edition was organized by the College of the Americas (COLAM), which develops and offers training programs with an inter-American, interdisciplinary and intercultural perspective, with the University of Guadalajara of more than two centuries of tradition and the Inter-American Organization of Universities (OUI).
Knowledge and innovation: energy for development
The VII edition was supported by Itaipu Binacional and Itaipu Technological Park (PTI), which hosted the event. In the PTI they cohabit different entities – academic, governmental, business – being characterized as an environment of connections and of shared use, propitiating exchanges of experiences and integration between people and institutions.
Accelerating Innovation: A Critical Factor for Social Development
The VI Congress was organized by the College of the Americas/Inter-American University Organization, Universidad Santo Tomás. It has brought together a number of strategic issues to effectively promote innovation processes in the region and to compensate for the lack of development indicators.
Knowledge and innovation for industrial competitiveness
In 2015, the University of Santa Catarina Educational Society (UNISOCIESC) was the headquarters of the 5th edition of the ciKi. At the event was presented the document that summarizes the V State Conference on Science, Technology and Innovation, which sought to establish strategic directions and priorities of the Government of the State of Santa Catarina in support of innovations resulting from scientific and technological research.
Knowledge Management and Intellectual Capital as a Competitive Advantage
Held by the Particular Technical University of Loja (UTPL), the 4th edition of the ciKi has reached an important stage in its path, establishing itself as a world-class event. Representatives from governmental and non-governmental organizations were called upon to discuss the direction of organizational innovation, focusing on small and medium-sized enterprises.
Technology Parks and Intellectual Capital: Innovating in Turbulent Times
The 3rd edition was organized by the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul (TECNOPUC/PUCRS). As in previous editions, national and international participants presented and discussed intellectual capital in the strategic development of technological innovation and knowledge cities.
The challenge of boosting SMEs and innovative entrepreneurship
The Autonomous University of Madrid (UAM) hosted the 2nd edition of ciKi in 2012. The main discussion was to energize SMEs in conflicting knowledge management and intellectual capital environments to compete in a global economy.
